Design Through Time is a lecture series I created for my Event Graphics class, built around three artists whose work echoes across eras. Aubrey Beardsley from Arts and Crafts, Alphonse Mucha from Art Nouveau, and Victor Moscoso from the psychedelic era share a visual rhythm that shows up in layout, typography, and composition. I translated that connection into a focused set of event materials including a style guide, poster, postcard, tote bag, website, and social media graphics.

Poster

The poster uses custom graphics inspired by each era, paired with a clear typographic hierarchy to organize the information. A monochrome color palette keeps the layout clean and consistent, giving the series a focused visual starting point.

Postcard

The postcard carries over the same era inspired graphics, typography, and monochrome palette from the poster. The information is refined to fit the smaller format, creating a simple, clear piece that supports the rest of the series materials.

Tote bag

The tote bag features the series title and a face graphic, using the main elements from the lecture series. The design is simple and clean, creating merchandise that is functional while visually connected to the rest of the materials.

Webpage

This webpage highlights the evolution of design through a selection of influential artists. It provides concise descriptions of each artist’s work and context, connecting their contributions to broader movements in design history.

Style guide

The style guide establishes the visual foundation for the lecture series. I selected colors and typography that best reflect each time period and art era, providing a clear framework for all materials and ensuring a cohesive look across posters, postcards, merchandise, and social media.
